ReStore Donation Process

One of the most frequently asked questions we hear is, “How do I go about donating?” Simple! There are a few easy options…

Drop off your items at the store.

Donations of small or single items can be dropped off, Tuesday-Saturday between the hours of 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Take your items to the Donations Center on the rear-north side of the building where a member of the ReStore Team screen them and, if accepted, provide you with a receipt for your donation. We ask that you call ahead when donating appliances, furniture or large quantities of reusable building materials that need more than one person to carry as this allows us a little advance time to prepare for your arrival.

Request a free pick-up.

Southern Adirondack ReStore services Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties. For donors outside our service area, please contact the Habitat ReStore closest to you (i.e.,  AlbanySchenectadyHudson, etc.). If for some reason your local Habitat ReStore is unable to accommodate your donation, or if you live in an area that is not clearly serviced by another Habitat ReStore, please contact us and we will do our best to receive your donation.

Free pickups by our truck will be scheduled for large, multi-item donations. Although we would love to accommodate all pick up requests, we are unable to schedule pick-ups for small or single items.

After scheduling a pick-up, please be sure that your items are easily accessible when our team arrives. Donations should be neatly organized in a central location, and all hallways and walkways should be free of obstructions. Every effort should be made to eliminate the use of stairs, whenever possible. During inclement weather, all exterior driveways and walkways must be plowed, shoveled, and free of ice.

*All items to be picked up are at the discretion of our Restore Team. Any item not meeting the ReStore Donation Guidelines will not be picked up.

Is your business looking to donate large quantities of inventory?

Southern Adirondack ReStore will help save you disposal costs! You can donate unwanted inventory of new or gently-used items at no cost to your business, and your donation will help build homes right here iour community!

Give us a call to coordinate the delivery or pick-up of inventory you no longer need.

Is my donation Tax Deductible?

Yes! As a 501(c)3 organization, all contributions – cash, goods, and services- are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. IRS regulations require that the donor must establish the value of donated item(s). For questions, contact your tax consultant or irs.gov.
