House #18

House # 18 is completed! Thanks to all the great volunteers that have come out and helped to make this dream a reality!

Wrapping up odds & ends during the week

Dec 15th sealing heating ducts, shelves in closets, another coat on trim/doors

On December1st, much trim was installed, puttied & painted by a group of volunteers from Skidmore College.

During the week of the 26th, kitchen cabinets were installed and trim prepared.

On November 24th another coat of paint was applied to walls and ceilings. The cabinets and trim had been delivered. House electric had been connected.

 

On November17th, a coat of paint was put on all interior walls and ceilings, with a second coat in the kitchen area. Also the land had been graded.

On November 10th, the shed roof was completed, railings installed on outside stairways, a trench was dug for the propane delivery line

On November 3rd the sheetrocking was completed, taping was begun, the side steps modified and a shed built

October 27th much of the sheetrocking was completed.

October 20th the siding was completed, electrical roughed-in, and much of the insulation was done. Porch railing was installed and the plumbing inspection completed.

Also during the week, the septic system was completed...
May not be pretty, but necessary

On September 29th much of the siding went up, and most of the front porch was completed.

 

The doors & windows went in on 22 September, and the bathroom plumbing was started

After the second work party, the walls were completed. Special thanks to the young adults from Skidmore College who showed up to do a full day of nail pounding & wall lifting!
